Domains with dashes in them

The goal of this article is to debate whether or not it’s better to have dashes in your domain name, Google was used for our testing

One word domain

From left to right words search - Cheese, pizza, dogs, cats, drums, kids, horses, computers, furniture and car. There are 10 results for each word. You can see in the second row, the amount of domains displayed that have dashes in them for that keyword. The third row displays the position of the domain that has the dash. For our example, we only used first page results. This illustration shows that out of these 10 search terms and 100 results (10 results per search) there are 3 with dashes. Thats not such a good number for those who think you should put dashes in your domain name.

I thought to be fair to those who like dashes in their domains that I should take it a few steps further and search for 2 and 3 word keywords.

Reduce Adwords CPC Cost - Tips from Adwords Pro

I am wondering if this is common practice, but this has worked for me with great cost/value benifit.

Generally start with keyword bids with whatever value it takes to get keyword enabled and start getting traffic. Once ad starts getting good CTR and position around 1-4, reduce the keyword CPC (keeping it still enabled).

This practice helped clients to reduce CPC significantly (50%) still maintaing decent ad position and CTR.

Few tips:

1. If you have good ad text and confident that you can maintain good CTR then ad position of 4-7 can still fetch good results, at cheaper cost than having ad at top position.

2. If you are getting top position for certain bid, one can try reducing the CPC even if it pushes your ad few positions below.
